Best thing I've read about babies in a long time! I don't really agree with the disgusting part, but all the good stuff is totally true. Read the rest of this post here.

Somebody stop me!! I think waiting on news, or just waiting in general, is affecting my nerves. And when I get nervous or anxious I shop (much to my husband's dismay.) Now, even he has to admit, I am a Very Good Shopper. I do a lot of research, and always get the best price available. It's just that sometimes I might possibly shop for and buy things we don't always need. The good thing is that I am aware of this, and usually find ways to keep it at bay. (Funny that I should use that word "bay".) I shop in online stores, and fill my shopping cart and then leave the site without purchasing, I shop on Chapters.ca, see what's available and then reserve it online at the Library, etc. So. I thought I could do it on Ebay too. Except I can't! I bid on stuff, and then decided I HAD TO HAVE it!!

So now, arriving in the mail will be:

One Vintage Fisher-Price Happy Apple (Yay!)
One Vintage Fisher-Price Chatter Phone (Yay!)
And
One Vintage Fisher-Price Record Player (YAY!)

Don't get me wrong - I am Very pleased with my purchases, and I didn't pay too much, but I have to wonder if my son will really get the same level of enjoyment out of these toys as I will. But then I wonder, will it matter that much at all? I am going to LOVE this stuff! :)

No real post today, just want to move the corn further down the page. We had a really good visit with my parents on the weekend, I always miss them so much when they leave.

And that's it. No news.

Hi. Me again. It's 12.11am and I am up, still waiting for my child to fall asleep after waking up at 10:30. Seriously, this sucks.

I have rocked, and sang, and rocked, and sang, and patted and sang and everything else I can think of that doesn't work. I just can't find anything that does work. And I am very tired. He is too, and it's so sad to see him struggle like this.

I don't think he wants a brother or a sister. I think he wants to be an only child, and at this rate...he wins. I can't imagine being pregnant on this little sleep.

I think awake is the new black.

So. Friday night was worse. My dear husband spent most of the night on the floor, "making sure our son didn't get away". It didn't matter how many times I said he was asleep, in his crib. I was continually told that if I wanted to let our son "get away" it was fine, but he wasn't going to. At one point I woke up and he was sitting on the floor talking to our son in the playpen. It was pretty cute, he was having a great time. Except it was the middle of the night, and our son wasn't in the playpen. He was in his room, asleep in the crib.

So, yesterday I forced the issue. I told him that we had to talk about the stress, because I care about him and also because I was exhausted! And it turns out I had it completely wrong! Yes, some stress was work related, but not to do with what I thought it was. And he was mad. At me! Me!!!! Because I didn't want him to play wii (or play with the wii?) every waking hour he was home from work. And he kept that from me for 3 days, and kept me up because of it for 2 nights!!!

He's forgiven of course, but sheesh!

(i'm forgiven too)

Have I ever mentioned that my marvelous husband talks in his sleep? And walks, and pretty much acts out whatever he's dreaming about? Well, if I haven't, he does. And he did it again last night. Now, as these things go last night was pretty tame. He didn't try to move any furniture, or save me from any spiders/mice/bad guys, or anything like that. He didn't get up to look for the baby under the bed, or carry any pizza around on his pillow. So I really shouldn't complain. And I'm not, really. I'm just VERY tired, especially as my son is 11 months old and still gets up at least 3 times a night. And last night, when he wasn't up, my husband was. Just sitting on the end of the bed, getting ready to do...something. Who knows what, as half the time he doesn't remember any of his night activities. He woke me up a couple of times just to ask me what I wanted. Um. Nothing, I'm asleep. Then he woke me up because he was trying to clean the blinds, and would show me the mess in the morning.

Now. This all sounds funny to those that don't live through it. And it is funny to me too, almost always. What isn't funny is that this mostly happens when he is stressed. And I know that he is stressed right now, and he won't talk to me about it. And that makes me sad for him. He deserves not to be stressed. So... Honey, if you read this, take a deep breath and know that no matter what, we're all going to be okay. Because we're a family, and we've got each other, forever, and that is what really matters. The rest of the stuff is just life. And we're going to be fine!! (For anyone else reading this, nothing bad has happened, or is about to. It's just regular, life kind of stress.)

Nobody likes change. ;)

Poor little monkey. He's still got a cold. It's been just about 2 weeks now, and I wish that there was some way I could have it for him. He's very good about it, but it does make his tolerance level a little lower, and he sure hates to get his nose wiped! He slept a bit better last night. He was still up in the night 3 times, but there was one three hour period that we all slept!

I can't believe it's almost time for his first birthday!! I know there is still 3 weeks or so, but still. One year old! And so perfect! We are such a lucky family.

My parents are visiting, sort of. They spent Monday night here with us, went to a hotel (for Mom's work) on Tuesday. They're back here tomorrow night, then we take them to the airport on Saturday. They are spending their 38th anniversary (Valentine's Day) in Mexico. And then they're back with us next Sunday. It's nice to have them here. We all bowled and played baseball in the living room on Monday when they arrived. Wii-eeee!

. . . . . . . . .

So. About the news. There may still be some, but we're still not saying anything yet. :p
