Got this this morning from my Mother-in-Law (and thought it was quite funny):

Subject: The Shortest Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, a girl asked a guy, "Will you marry me?" The guy said "No".

And the girl lived happily ever after and went shopping, drank martinis with friends, always had a clean house, never had to cook, had a closet full of shoes and handbags, stayed skinny, and was never farted on.

The End.

Things are starting to feel a little more normal around here, if normal is the right word for it. We're both feeling a little invisible in a city that doesn't know we don't know anyone. But I guess everyone must feel something like this when they first move to a new place. The unpacking continues, at a slower rate though, as the stuff that's left is all the same stuff that didn't have anywhere to go in our last place. We are persevering though, and hope to have most of it finished by the end of this weekend.

This past weekend was a lot of fun. My mom, sister, niece and nephew all drove up for a visit. It's the first time my 4 year old nephew has ever been to a place I've lived, and he was really excited. We went to the beach (not to swim) and the park, and had some adventures with a tail light and a run over purse, and played a lot of Wii. I think a good time was had by all. I know that the Bean had a GREAT time. He was SO excited to have kids to play with, and to share his toys with. Hopefully I'll find some playgroups here soon, because I think he's getting a little bored of just his mom. And as soon as I receive my new address for my driver's license, we'll be off to the library for story time and books!

And last but not least, I think I have found a new family doctor that will take us all as new patients. Apparently she only has 2 or 3 more openings, and will only take patients transferring from out of the Okanagan area, so we qualify. We'll see how it goes at our introductory appointment on the 22nd. It's not such a big deal for N or I to just go to a walk-in clinic when we have the need, but the Bean needs to see someone who will be able to follow his progress. So we're keeping our fingers crossed that this doctor will take us.

Flowers just arrived!! There is nothing quite like getting flowers delivered to your door. Thank you so much Carrie, it was very thoughtful - and they are beautiful!

Much love to you and your family, and thank you for thinking of us.

Things are looking up a little, and they are definitely looking bigger! Thanks again to all that helped on the weekend, it was appreciated more than you could ever know! :)
